Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager / Director to lead our Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives within the high-tech sector. This individual will drive the development and execution of business intelligence strategies focused on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive dynamics. While the role primarily focuses on business intelligence, knowledge of intellectual property (IP) is a plus, as it can help enhance market insights and inform strategic decisions. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, particularly in the high-tech space, and possess strong analytical skills to leverage BI data for business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of Business Intelligence Unit: Lead and manage the Business Intelligence unit, aligning it with broader business strategies and market trends. Provide direction for identifying, analyzing, and utilizing emerging technologies, market dynamics, and competitor intelligence.
  • BI Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive business intelligence strategy focused on gathering insights from the technology landscape, including competitor analysis, market trends, and technology forecasting.
  • Technology and Market Landscape Analysis: Conduct research into the high-tech industry, identifying key trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies. Provide actionable insights for business strategy and decision-making.
  • Business Intelligence Reporting: Develop detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership, summarizing market trends, competitive intelligence, and key technology developments, with strategic recommendations for business growth.
  • Competitive Intelligence and Benchmarking: Analyze competitor activities and technology advancements to identify opportunities and risks for the organization. Help the company stay ahead of trends and innovations in the high-tech space.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with legal, R&D, product development, and business teams to integrate BI insights into product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Innovation and Technology Forecasting: Forecast emerging trends in technology and their business implications. Advise the leadership team on potential disruptions and how these trends may impact the company's position and strategy.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of BI researchers and analysts, setting clear goals, driving performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, market research, or competitive analysis within the high-tech sector, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field; an MBA or Law degree with a focus on IP is a plus but not required.
  • Strong experience in technology market analysis, competitor intelligence, and strategic decision-making based on business insights.
  • Proficiency in using BI tools and platforms for research, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies in IT, telecommunications, AI, software, or other high-tech industries.
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex data for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on leveraging BI to drive business success.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing business intelligence or market research functions within high-tech industries such as AI, telecommunications, software, or semiconductor.
  • Familiarity with IP concepts and how they may relate to business intelligence in the high-tech industry is a plus.
  • Experience working with legal teams to integrate business intelligence insights into IP strategies (optional).


Compensation:

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and overall business unit performance.
